Working on an 'Irondequoit Bay' swan painting.
Really, there is nothing like oil paint.

Paint It Black

A lot of the time I start my paintings by putting on a layer of black gesso.
Those black velvet artists know what's what.

Then I sketch with a white Prismacolor pencil.
Sometimes a metallic gold one if I am feeling particularly frisky.
