I love designing pinback buttons.

Years ago "the store" bought a button making machine.
It languished, un-loved and un-used.
I commandeered it and now I make thousands of these suckers a year.


Store buttons, vinyl themes buttons, cat buttons...
I design 'em in photoshop, print  and cut them, and then hand stamp each one into a button.
Two new designs I finished up this week.

It makes the best jangly noise on your wrist.

Earring Night

I finally settled down and made some earrings this evening.

No earthshaking new designs, but it's good to be hammering bit together.

Love these little tin strawbs.
You can't quite see them but there are little brass puffy hearts behind the berry charms.
So that they look as nice from the front and from the back.
You gotta ride both sides of the horse.

I really just could not do the understated, elegant thing... I even chose a shiny paper stock.

Rockin' the Bock

I am working on a new bracelet made with my glass beads and spangles cut from Genesee Bock Beer cans.

If you're a Rochesterian you know you gotta have it.
The most beloved of all Genesee beers - Genny Bock Beer.

This bracelet is not my first creation inspired by this brew...

Is it really finally finished?
It's been hanging around my studio being difficult for almost a year.
It was just such a boring painting, blah.
Then I just slapped some purple glaze on it from a painting of irises I am working on next to it.
Viola!

Is there anything more beautiful and promising than a pile of paint?
