The Green Bits

A detail photo from the big painting of pink roses I am working on.
There is nothing better than painting the green parts.

Fancy Fall Skulls

It feels like fall outside, Saturday was the first day I've worn socks in ages.
Damp, dark, dank weather, everyone scrambling to find forgotten sweaters.
All of which brings on thoughts of Halloween.
Let's make skull earrings.

A great big pair (above) and an eeny weeney pair (below).

Both pair made with my glass headpins.

This pair has giant black peacock freshwater pearls.

Busted Valentines

Another recent poster design.

Imagine how happy I was when I found the vintage artwork of busty woman who is busted behind bars - in red no less - for the band Busted Valentines?

Don't Go Drinkin' On An Empty Heart

Look! I made a poster.
My life as a graphic designer seems like a million years ago.
It's much more fun to do as a pass time than as a job.

My favorite part was fashioning a heart shaped cherry and adding it to the whiskey.

Painting In The Wild

Last night was the first Friday of the month, as such it was open house in the building where I have my painting and glass studio.

Usually I set up my jewelry and a few drawings and treat it like a craft show.
It felt like it was time for a change of routine.

With this half finished canvas of pink roses on my big easel I painted in public.
The snapshot above shows the painting at 5:00pm and the one below at 9:00pm.

Lots of people stood behind me and did Bob Ross impressions. Srsly?
A few asked some interesting questions, two people didn't like the smell of oil paints and complained, one guy wanted to know how much I made per hour.
It was downright weird.

I'm not sure I would do it again but I did get a lot of pink paint on there.
A few more days of working ALONE in my studio and it will be done.

A Flock of Hot Crows

A special order!
Six crows in my kiln.

Family Desk

I snagged some fancy frames at a garage sale and then brought my immediate family to the studio.
Kiki P. Oodle, Miss Margaret, Richard and Napoleon P. Oodle.

Look closedly at the small photo in the center.
My dog is is better than your dog because he is also a beer caddy.

Pin You

I love designing pinback buttons.

Years ago "the store" bought a button making machine.
It languished, un-loved and un-used.
I commandeered it and now I make thousands of these suckers a year.

Store buttons, vinyl themes buttons, cat buttons...
I design 'em in photoshop, print  and cut them, and then hand stamp each one into a button.
Two new designs I finished up this week.

Some other recent designs.

Genny Girl

I finally finished the Genesee Bock Beer bracelet.

It makes the best jangly noise on your wrist.

Check out more pictures in my Etsy shoppe.

Earring Night

I finally settled down and made some earrings this evening.

No earthshaking new designs, but it's good to be hammering bit together.

Love these little tin strawbs.
You can't quite see them but there are little brass puffy hearts behind the berry charms.
So that they look as nice from the front and from the back.
You gotta ride both sides of the horse.
