The Runaway Bracelet
I made this bracelet as a sample for a local bead shop. The plan was to use my lampwork beads, with their commercial components, to show shoppers how to incorporate glass into their chunky leather cord bracelets.
The plan worked.
I sold a small mountain of large hole glass beads to people who came to my trunk show yesterday.
The three beads in the bracelet were off mandrel, very amorphous, free-form donuts.
I wish I had photographed them before I put them on the bracelet (always in a hurry).
And, I wish I still had the bracelet... I sold it right off the display.
Sigh.
I really wanted it for myself, good thing I can make more, eh?

Done & Done
I have finished two oil paintings - the first ones to come out of my new studio.
Yes, it feels amazing to have such a perfect, perfect place to work.
The one the left is "Chicken on Asphalt" and on the right "Apple Branches."
Both will be at "Artist's Row" on Sunday, September 15th.

The Husky Parts
I've been playing with my button machine...
Blackout poetry buttons and nasty faces.
I will have these and hundreds more at Artist's Row on Sunday.
Each one is one of a kind and $1 each.

Pinning It - Old School
Sure I have a Pinterest account. You can see it by clicking here.
But I also 'pin' the old fashioned way, with pushpins, clippings and a wall.
My daughter says Pinterest is "Tumbler for housewives," I think it's more like visual Farmville for artists.

Get 'em While They're Hot
That was fun.
I have 50+ new ponytail elastics ready to go.
Once I've made the glass buttons and cleaned them the next step is to get out my bucket of hair elastics.
And find the perfect color band for each naked button.
Then find my box of wire and get lay out every spool of 18 gauge.
Next the tedious part, fabricating all the wire loops that hold the elastics and do the attaching thing.
Let them cure and Viola!
All of them will be for sale, Friday night in my new studio.
It's First Friday at the Hungerford Building and all the artist's will have their spaces open to the public from 6-9.
